Mariner Avenue 1

The Moorings, comprising of 98 purpose designed accommodations, is situated in the north of Edgbaston, right in the heart of Birmingham. The site, surrounded by history, culture and one the UK’s most exciting cities, backs onto one the most beautiful nature reserves in the city – Edgbaston Reservoir.

A quiet 100% residential setting, Mariner Avenue consists of 134 properties – houses, maisonettes and apartments. The inhabitants are predominantly professional, white collar workers who choose the central location for work within Birmingham’s busy city centre, not forgetting the wide ranging, cosmopolitan night life and style conscious shopping malls.

All properties within the Moorings have allocated off road parking and with the maintained gardens and surrounding trees it is often easy to forget you are virtually in the centre of England’s second largest city.

To the rear of the development, an entrance provides the residents with direct access to the Edgbaston Reservoir – an important nature conservation area. The 70 acre site is owned by Severn Trent and built in 1827 by Thomas Telford as a top up for the all important canal system.

A bolt of woodland and grassland encircles the reservoir providing an oasis of natural beauty and a valuable home to a variety of birdlife and animals including protected bats and newts.

Whether it be jogging or a leisurely ramble, the public can enjoy the perimeter path of approximately 1.75 miles (2.8km) through this most idyllic of settings. If something a little more energetic is demanded then The Birmingham Rowing Club and The Midland Sailing Club are situated within the reservoir.
